Introduction

Dr. Ferenc József TANÁCS

Founding attorney

In 2011, as the organizer of the BME Challenge24 programming competition, Dr. Tanács was responsible for sponsorship contracts and PR relations <nationally televised interview>, and following the structured drafting of more than 20 agreements, Dr. Tanács recognized the power in creating logically structured contracts with a thorough understanding of engineering, after which his attention shifted to civil law. His organized approach and steadfast commitment to law continues to this day.

Following the completion of a master’s degree in electrical engineering at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, he commenced his legal studies at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, which he completed at the University of Szeged. He achieved fluency in English and German by attending over 20 foreign workshops and conferences, accompanied by multinational corporate work experience during his time in Schneider Electric’s international sourcing department and Fluor Corporation’s Dutch office.

Both as the founder of the Dr. Tanács Law Firm and as a lecturer at the Institute of Business Law of the University of Szeged, Dr. Tanács considers the logical, structured, and transparent regulation of legal relations to be a fundamental value of the legal profession, during which he regards the level of detail and cost-effectiveness expected by the given client to be of paramount importance. As law is constantly evolving, up-to-date knowledge is essential for him, so he is a participant and speaker at many conferences to this day. He finds it crucial that clients are provided with information in specialized matters related to the law – whether matters of taxation, accounting, or business planning – and ensures the sources of the information are the best in the field, for example, the CEO of Legrand Zrt., Laszló Károlyi.

He specializes in handling complex technical, business, and economic law cases, where he better understands the root cause through his engineering studies. Meanwhile, in the communication with both the client and the other parties to the case, he pays special attention to direct, transparent communication, as in many cases it allows for the earlier conclusion of a procedure, even on the basis of an agreement.

Through proficiency acquired in the field of business, several years of professional experience and constantly updating knowledge, he acts as a catalyst for the work of clients who value linguistic competence and the pragmatic, effective mindset typical of engineers.
